It's Beginning to Look a lot Like..

Someone (me) has been bitten by the Christmas bug!
I blame Starbucks for a mid November Christmas set up.
How cute is this lil 12 oz cup!? Perfect size, perfect design, and PERFECT color changing straw! I love being a 4 year old in a 21 year old body ;)

This holiday overload brings me to my latest dilemma:
REAL vs. FAKE
Christmas trees. Which do you have, and which do you prefer?
My take on the issue? I like to set up a tree as early as possible (usually Thanksgiving is the earliest I can get away with) and I enjoy having little upkeep! Roommate wants a real tree, but I'm hesitant.
HELP!
My family's fake tree we've had for years:
Fake or not, that bad boy is BEAUTIFUL.

Ps: Treat yourself to an early Christmas present! Plenty of goodies left in my Shop My Closet!

Halloween Weekend re-cap

This weekend Kyle and I decided to go up to Phoenix to visit my Sister and her husband. Being the Halloween enthusiast that he is, my brother in law had a ton of fun and festive activities planned for us including a haunted house, Paranormal Activity, a zombie walk, and a zombie activity at his med school.

I snapped a few photos but I was too busy having fun to document everything!

Aaaand Halloween costume:
I spent my Halloween at work for 9 hours. It wasn't such a bust because I was got to re-do the sign for all of the winter drinks Starbucks is now happily serving! OH, and I put out those lovely red cups we all love so much :) Guess it's time to start celebrating the holiday season!!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Friday!

This Friday has been a pretty great one. Mainly because I sat down with my manager today at Starbucks and I got the promotion!!! Holy cow, I've been stressing like crazy about it and I am SO ecstatic that she is allowing me to give it a shot. I know I'll do a great job! In the spirit of Starbucks, I have a little treat to share with you guys! My drink of the day today...

You can sub Classic syrup for the splenda and raspberry for a sweeter version. Up to you! It was so yummy, it just may be a regular drink of mine! If you try it let me know how you like it.

Later this afternoon I shipped out some Shop My Closet goodies (expect NEW things this weekend!), and ran some other errands in preparation of my Cali trip that is rapidly approaching. Kyle and I eventually passed out on his couch for 35 minutes or so. It was one of those awkward sweaty naps that aren't entirely refreshing, but at least we caught some Z's. Then, it was time for us to get ready for my friend Courtney's birthday dinner at Zin Burger (aka burger heaven on Earth...)

We clean up nice eh?
  • Tank: F21
  • Cardi: Target
  • Skirt: F21
  • Shoes: Talbot's (found at Buffalo exchange)
  • Necklace: Betsey Johnson
  • Button Up: Old Navy
  • Denim: Levi's
  • Kicks: Nike (Jordans)
  • Hat: Mitchell & Ness
  • Watch: Nixon
I ate a bunless turkey burger with goat cheese and avocado. It was the best thing I've ever tasted! Kyle got the bun-on turkey burger with a fried egg on top! Such a culinary rebel.  I have SUCH a food baby right now, it's not even funny. I'm off to bed now, another early wake up call tomorrow -_- bleh. But I'm happy to announce that this week will be my last week of opens! My new position calls for night shifts which is wonderful! I get to re-unite with my bed/the snooze button. GLORIOUS. Sweet dreams <3

Daily Getup

Today has been a lovely day in the desert! First thing this morning, I made my way to the U of A for a very important advisors appointment.  The appointment was to determine my EDG (estimated date of graduation!) and I was sure she would tell me I was behind. Not only am on the 'right track', I should be able to take 3 of the left over classes at our local community college to save money/time! Needless to say, I'm very excited and looking forward to the next year.

Getup for today:
  •  Lace tank: F21
  • Shorts: F21 (Heritage)
  • Belt: Target
  • Flats: Target
I also wanted to share a couple of pick-ups I found today while out with my 'big sis' Gina.
I couldn't resist the flats and since I bought them, I've decided to wait on the Blowfish flats :( I'm on the fence about them because I don't know how well the brown will go with my outfits. Decisions, decisions.

Hope you're all having a great day...Tucson Tuesday SHOULD be up later tonight! Fingers crossed I can find time before my early bed time.

Also, thanks for the well-wishes about my interview! I'm really hoping it works out :)

PS:

Iced grande 1 pump mocha, 1 splenda, whole milk, iced coffee. This is typically my daily jam! YUM!

Dentist and an Interview

What a day. Whew. I opened at bux, ran home, took a 15 min nap (haha at least I tried!), got a cavity filled, interviewed for a promotion, shopped a teensy bit, hit the gym, and BAM! here we are. It's days like these that make peoples' lives seem to breeze by. I wish I could rid myself of busy days.

I threw on a comfy top/shorts duo today for my excursion to the dentist's chair and my interview:
  • Striped top: Urban Outfitters
  • Shorts: Levi's
  • Shoes: BLOWFISH!
I have to tell you guys how obsessed with Blowfish I have been lately! I can't get enough of their sophisticated/comfy look. These white Blowfish flats were a given to me as a gift on my last birthday from some friends. They are 1 of 3 pairs of flats I own that are actually comfortable! The wide fit accommodates any foot type and they certainly never lack in style. I have my eyes on these bad boys:
HAWT. You can shop Blowfish HERE! Whatever you do, make sure you type in blowfishshoes.com versus just Blowfish.com....you'll end up somewhere you don't want to be if you make that mistake....HA! Tomorrow I'm running over to scoop these up before I do anything else:

I've been on a shoe craze lately, can you tell?!

In case you were wondering, my interview went great! We will know in a few days who will get the position. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!

ps:
This is a delicious tall, 1 pump raspberry, blended strawberry lemonade. If you don't mind something quite sweet I highly recommend you try it! Heaven in a cup. <3

Chicken and Waffles

Let me start out by saying WILDCATS WON! We beat duke by nearly 20 points and now we're moving on to what the Elite 8 (two rounds before the championship). I'm unbelievably stoked for my team!

Last night, Kyle was feeling pretty down due to his knee injury (we now learned it's an ACL tear in addition to the meniscus tear) so I decided to make him one of our new favorite dishes, Chicken and Waffles! This Southern dish is exactly what you'd imagine. Typically it's fried chicken on top of a tasty waffle, but I tried my best to modify it so it would be not so heart unhealthy.

I shopped for "fresh" ingredients [I spent under $25]
  • Wheat pancake mix
  • Hot Sauce (of two varieties: Red Devil and Louisiana)
  • Panko bread crumbs
  • Chicken breast tenders
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Step 2: Get everything ready, and beat 3-4 eggs
Step 3: Give your chicken an egg bath letting excess drip off, and roll in the panko bread crubs. Repeat once more until fully coated.
Step 4: Pop them into the oven for about 20 minutes (I continued to check until Panko was browned and the chicken was cooked throughout)
Step 5: Prep your waffle mix, and make your waffles! I have the luxury of using a waffle maker, it's an investment you won't regret. Each waffle took 2 min to cook.
Step 6: Once the waffles and chicken are done, bust out the maple syrup and hot sauce and you're ready to go!
I know it may seem like a strange combo, but they are to die for! Kyle enjoyed them and both of our little brothers demolished theirs :)

I hope you'll try this out someday. It was quick, cheap, and extra yummy.

I'll leave you guys with the D.O.D for today:
Today I treated myself to an Iced tall nonfat caramel macciato! I typically opt for the skinny version (sugar free and nonfat) but today I was feelin' the sugar. It's the perfect in between meal snack with the caramel flavor of the espresso mixing perfectly with the buttery sweet caramel drizzle. Don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY so you can drink $25 worth of these!
Have a wonderful night, and I'll see you tomorrow. TGIF!!

PS: 1 more dayyyyyy!!!

Daily Getup (today)

Round two! Here's what the getup is lookin' like today...
  • Top: Urban
  • Denim: Gap
  • Bag: H&M (I can't get enough of this bag!)
  • Boots: Modcloth
  • Ring (not pictured): Antique
The weather says the high today will be 69 degrees, so I went with boots. We'll see though, considering tomorrow's high is set at 80! I wish it was 70 degrees everyday. Tucson's summer is sneaking up quickly and I am in NO way ready for 115 degree heat! Nothing like the smell of melting pavement and sweaty, over sunscreened Tucsonans -__-

Like I said before, Em and I went to Starbucks where we got some delicious coffee and the new plastic cup with the new logo!
Taken from Emily's Twitter

Then, we feasted on some Chipotle! Yummmy Salad bowl...
I don't have photos from the rest of the night but we bought some pretty Covergirl Lipstick, and some things for our secret project. I am so excited for you guys to see what we have been working on! Hoping for a release date next week.

Time to take some notes in Social Psychology! Stay tuned for T.T. III (Tucson Tuesday!)
