Weekend Fashion

When I say weekend I do mean Monday and Tuesday. Sometimes it's a bummer not having Saturdays and Sundays like most people, but Mondays and Tuesdays are not so bad.

Monday I wore three different outfits. Not because I wanted to wear three different outfits, but because it was so muggy and I got really sweaty. For real. I started out feeling great, wearing an American Apparel circle skirt with a dainty white button up.

That lasted about 2 hours. Then cue the all black maxi dress followed by a shorter black t shirt dress. Do you ever have those days that are just too hot to stay in a single outfit? Maybe it's an Arizona thing.

Today I made a more informed decision and went with a crop top under a pair of thrifted overalls. I've been dying to buy some overalls for a while now. I ALMOST bought a pair from American Apparel...for $88. Man am I glad I didn't because the pair I picked up from Savers were $6!
Overalls are the perfect summer outfit in my opinion. So comfortable and versitile.

Enjoy your day!

Hi there.

It has been a hot minute, you guys. When things got busy back in May they GOT SO BUSY. We were running around finalizing wedding plans, working on crafts, working full time. It was intense.

There is a reason people take honeymoons. It's because they are so exhausted from their weddings and wedding planning. Maui was the most magical island I've ever been to (and the only one).

OH YEAH, I'M A MRS.!! That's been pretty amazing. Being married is the best thing in the world because you get to live with your very best friend and spend so much time together. I love it!
I know it's not a huge post but I wanted to share some pictures from the wedding and from Hawaii.

I will do a recap of Hawaii soon, but if you want to see more wedding pictures, our fabulous photographers-- Lang Photography-- posted them on their site here.

I have a bunch of fun outfits to share and I plan on taking our Canon out for a spin during our weekend, so stay tuned!

Outfit.

Today was so blustery and ugly in Tucson! Despite the weather, it was a wonderful day. I spent the morning out with Kyle and the afternoon at my wedding dress fitting (AH!). The fitting was such a success and my bridesmaids look stunning in their dresses. I am getting so excited for the wedding and I can't WAIT to share the photos with you guys!

This is what I wore in the earlier half of the day (until I swapped the denim out for shorts).

I hope Monday wasn't too much of a drag for you :)

Outfit.

The other day Kyle and I ran some wedding errands (oh wait that's every day...) and I wore one of my favorite vintage dresses ever. It's the perfect cut, print, color. I just love it!

It has been a lazy Saturday around my house. I worked a half day and spent the rest with my family. My dad is home from a 9 month long deployment and it feels so nice to have everyone together.

Oh, hey.

Well hello there little blog. I've missed you. I am sorry for neglecting you for so long. Let's make a better effort to spend more time with each other, eh?

I'm not going to rattle off the "I've been so busy" excuse since you can probably imagine what life must be like 5 weeks before someone's wedding. Since I've been missing from the internet, some things have happened...

A rental agreement has been signed for our very first home together..
You can imagine the fun/excitement that has given us the past few weeks. Kyle is keeping our little nest company until after the wedding, then I'll make my big move over there.

I've been spending a lot of time on wedding prep, picking up the last few gifts for our wedding party, etc. Every chance I get, I've been taking yoga classes and working out to get ready for my fitting (next Monday!). 2013 has just been a whirlwind!

While finalizing some of the "day of" plans, I finally decided that I will just be doing my own wedding make up. I love having an expert's touch, but all in all I just want to feel like myself at the wedding. I have never left a professional make up session feeling fully comfortable (I always wipe some off here, add some there). I plan on doing a few trials before the wedding of course, so I went out and picked up the supplies I'll be needing.
Please know that it is not 100% necessary to go spend tons of money on new make up. I have had my eyes on these products for a while now, and figured they'd come in handy on the big day!

Here's what I bought:

Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic kit- I literally don't own concealer so this was a must. It comes with some fantastic tools including mini brushes. For deets, I recommend watching a tutorial on youtube, they give great descriptions of the products included!

Benefit Brow Zing kit (in medium)- My brows are an unruly pair. This kit includes a pigmented wax and a professional powder for enhancing one of our face's biggest focal points.

Covergirl Blush- I don't for the life of me remember the name and I am at work or I'd check...haha. I do know it is a peachy hue, perfect for my freckly skin.

Benefit Starlet Lashes- These are to pump up my eyes on the wedding day. I love the pin-up look the half set gives.

NYX Natural eyeshadow pallet- This pallet has exactly what I'm looking for when it comes to bridal eyes. Matte colors (perfect for pictures) and a few sparkles in warm, summery colors. VERY excited to use this set!

I also snagged Covergirl 24 hour felt tip eyeliner and a lash blast waterproof mascara the other day. So far, I love those products as well!

This week is an exciting one for my fam and I, so I'll hopefully be back this weekend to say hello! Oh, how I've missed you blog world!
