Outfit.

Today was so blustery and ugly in Tucson! Despite the weather, it was a wonderful day. I spent the morning out with Kyle and the afternoon at my wedding dress fitting (AH!). The fitting was such a success and my bridesmaids look stunning in their dresses. I am getting so excited for the wedding and I can't WAIT to share the photos with you guys!

This is what I wore in the earlier half of the day (until I swapped the denim out for shorts).

I hope Monday wasn't too much of a drag for you :)

Outfit.

The other day Kyle and I ran some wedding errands (oh wait that's every day...) and I wore one of my favorite vintage dresses ever. It's the perfect cut, print, color. I just love it!
Dress and belt are vintage::Shoes are from Urban::Bag is vintage Coach

It has been a lazy Saturday around my house. I worked a half day and spent the rest with my family. My dad is home from a 9 month long deployment and it feels so nice to have everyone together.

Oh, hey.

Well hello there little blog. I've missed you. I am sorry for neglecting you for so long. Let's make a better effort to spend more time with each other, eh?

I'm not going to rattle off the "I've been so busy" excuse since you can probably imagine what life must be like 5 weeks before someone's wedding. Since I've been missing from the internet, some things have happened...

A rental agreement has been signed for our very first home together..
You can imagine the fun/excitement that has given us the past few weeks. Kyle is keeping our little nest company until after the wedding, then I'll make my big move over there.

I've been spending a lot of time on wedding prep, picking up the last few gifts for our wedding party, etc. Every chance I get, I've been taking yoga classes and working out to get ready for my fitting (next Monday!). 2013 has just been a whirlwind!

While finalizing some of the "day of" plans, I finally decided that I will just be doing my own wedding make up. I love having an expert's touch, but all in all I just want to feel like myself at the wedding. I have never left a professional make up session feeling fully comfortable (I always wipe some off here, add some there). I plan on doing a few trials before the wedding of course, so I went out and picked up the supplies I'll be needing.
Please know that it is not 100% necessary to go spend tons of money on new make up. I have had my eyes on these products for a while now, and figured they'd come in handy on the big day!

Here's what I bought:

Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic kit- I literally don't own concealer so this was a must. It comes with some fantastic tools including mini brushes. For deets, I recommend watching a tutorial on youtube, they give great descriptions of the products included!

Benefit Brow Zing kit (in medium)- My brows are an unruly pair. This kit includes a pigmented wax and a professional powder for enhancing one of our face's biggest focal points.

Covergirl Blush- I don't for the life of me remember the name and I am at work or I'd check...haha. I do know it is a peachy hue, perfect for my freckly skin.

Benefit Starlet Lashes- These are to pump up my eyes on the wedding day. I love the pin-up look the half set gives.

NYX Natural eyeshadow pallet- This pallet has exactly what I'm looking for when it comes to bridal eyes. Matte colors (perfect for pictures) and a few sparkles in warm, summery colors. VERY excited to use this set!

I also snagged Covergirl 24 hour felt tip eyeliner and a lash blast waterproof mascara the other day. So far, I love those products as well!

This week is an exciting one for my fam and I, so I'll hopefully be back this weekend to say hello! Oh, how I've missed you blog world!

Lately.

A week ago today, Gina and I headed out for a girl's night of sorts. We were invited to a sneak peak at Tucson's most impressive Whole Foods. We have several locations around town, but this location (River&Craycroft for you locals) is mind blowing. There are several rows of "hot bar" ready to be devoured. Produce piled high, rows and rows of local and organic products, a juice bar, you name it.
Gina and I explored the store (AKA ate a ton of delicious food).
Fresh sushi rolls from the in-store sushi bar.
Chicken taco and a kale salad.
A variety of goat cheeses, and goat cheese FUDGE (!).
I've already been back for more.
Most people think I'm crazy for loving grocery shopping as much as I do, but the few who get me know where I'm comin' from.

This week has been a crazy one at work. Our resort is just shy of capacity, so I've been a tad stressed to put it mildly. Today was a nice break from the chaos. Not only was it a toasty 76 degrees (isn't it January?), I got to spend my day at the Tucson Children's Museum watching my beautiful niece run around and celebrate being 1!  I celebrated her being 1 with a tasty Elmo cupcake :)

After the party, I headed to our local Apple store in search for some software. They didn't have it, so my next move was to buy a polka dot tulle skirt haha. Gotta love Anthro sales.

The rest of the day shall be spent vegging out until Kyle's off, then we have a weight lifting date.
Hope everyone has been happy and well!

Reflecting.

I'm sitting here at work sipping a latte and reflecting on this past year. Everyone is blogging about their Best Of 2012, or their future plans for 2013, and it has prompted a peek back into the last 12 months. It really feels like last week when Kyle proposed and I whined about having to wait a year and a half to marry him. Now, with a little over four months to go, I can't believe how it has breezed by.

It's incredible to me how fast time goes by as you get older. I remember my childhood feeling like an eternity and now I have to dig through my memory to remember happenings of that era. I'm young and not too concerned (yet) about aging, but it sure does tug at your heart a little to know that your youth is so fleeting. Which is why I vow to make the next few years of my 20's extremely fun and full of youthful adventure.

I haven't had a chance to really think about my goals/resolutions for 2013. So until I figure out my plan for the new year, here's a look back at the last 12 months.

January:
Met my niece for the very first time. She was so teeny.
I was also still working at Sbux, and hating waking up before the sun.
My last semester of college started in January.

February:
Kyle's 23rd Birthday! We celebrated up in Phoenix and had a blast.
He also traveled to the Massachusetts location of Canyon Ranch for work.
I missed him a ton so I watched Gossip Girl and ate a ton of candy..haha.
Was Kyle's Valentine for the 6th year in a row.

March:
Participated in the Race for the Cure with my girl Chyna.
Hiked more than usual.
Thrifted more than usual.
Generally spent a lot of time working/at school.

April:
Colored eggs!
Purchased my graduation gown/hat/tassel.
Tried to stay sane while taking finals/wedding planning/going through a family transition.

May:
I graduated from college! YAY!
This whole month was a blur.
I spent a lot of time at an internship and studying for finals.

June:
I turned 22! So-long 21.
Finalized our venue selection.
Began hunting for bridesmaid's dresses.

July:

Moved back in with my parents in hopes of saving some money (hah).
BBQ'd.
Spent lots of time with family and Kyle.

August:
Did our Caterer taste test!
Bought a vail.
Worked a bunch.

September:
Nothing really happened in Septmeber to be honest...
Except for the Monsoons...
and I did work out a ton! haha.

October:
Baby Brother's sweet 16!
Zombie walk up in phoenix/hung with my Sis and her Hubby.
Enjoyed a quiet Halloween at home.

November:
6 year anniversary! Love you Kyle.
Worked Thanksgiving (which sucked), ate great food (which didn't suck).
Made our first HUGE purchase as an engaged couple on Black Friday!
November is our favorite month :)

December:
Engagement photos by The Langs.
Baking, eating, fires, baking, scarves, hang outs, eating, eating, and now New Years Eve!

2012, you were pretty cray. There were plenty of ups and a few downs. I am really hoping 2013 will be the best year ever. I certainly have a TON to look forward to!

What I Wore: Christmas Day

I had such a wonderful Holiday! I took an extra day off last week, and I really enjoyed spending time with friends and family. In the next couple of days I will put some of our Christmas photos up on The Nott, so stay tuned..

Christmas day, I started out in a dress and tights, but it eventually cooled down a little too much so I changed into something a little warmer.

Coat, Denim, Shoes: F21, Sweater: H&M, Earrings: Kate Spade

Have yourself a merry little New Years eve!

Engagements

December 10th this year marked 1 year of being engaged to Kyle! We are so blessed to have a love like we do and even more blessed to know a pair with impeccable skills to capture our love in photos! You may remember when the Langs shot our anniversary shoot last year. Well, this year they shot our engagement photos and I couldn't be happier with them!! Here's a peek:

A million thanks to Stacie and Geoff Lang. You guys are really awesome and we are unbelievably psyched for you guys to come to (and shoot) the wedding!

See you later for a re-cap of this month! OH, and Merry Christmas Eve Eve.
