Hey guys. Last night at yoga, I had a little scare. We were beginning our standing poses when my ears started burning and buzzing, and I saw the sides of the room closing in. I promptly (and carefully) left the room to grab some water. I was able to finish the rest of the class but I was very careful and went about 70% intensity.
A few things: I have low blood pressure on average and I am usually dehydrated. I drink more coffee than water and coffee is a diuretic. On top of that, my meal choices lately have been less than ideal. I spent Valentine's day and the day after feasting on candy. Kyle left for Massachusetts on Wednesday and since he's been gone, I've felt a little lost and sad consequently inducing my candy coma.
THE POINT IS, (IMO) the food you eat and the fuel you put into your body directly effect how you feel.
So, last night after my not-so-steady yoga class, I prepped a delicious/nutritious dinner and downed two bottles of water. Sometimes when school gets crazy my eating habits become less smart, but I have to remember that despite being fiance-less for a couple weeks and bogged down with homework and work, I need to take care of myself.
Indulge in some self-love this weekend by skipping dinner at a restaurant and make something healthy you will enjoy and take pride in creating.
Last night's recovery feast...
Kale Chips recipe here. The other ingredients are just a few of my faves: quinoa, shrimp, black beans, with some taco spices.
Happy Friday, make it a good [and healthy] one.
This looks to yummy for words!
ReplyDeleteYummmmm...kale chips are the best. I suffer from low blood pressure as well. Hasn't been too much of an issue here lately but when it is, it's the worst.
ReplyDeleteThis looks delish! I have been doing the same thing lately....there have been days at work where hours go by and I all of a sudden get really dizzy, and realize it's because I have eaten nothing but chocolate and drank nothing but coffee. Definitely need to work on that. While I was standing in line at Starbucks the other day, I actually heard the barista say that for every cup of coffee you drink, it dehydrates you two cups of water. Hmm....
ReplyDeleteI love to see new posts ! I knew that since your posts have been a little irregular you must be busy! And it's so easy to grab easy things for food instead of taking a lot of time cooking ! m newly engaged too (!!!!) so I'm trying to really make better food choices but it's so tough when you're busy ! I can't imagine being away from my FIANCÉE for a couple weeks :(
ReplyDeleteWater, my best friend...I hate that thing and just like you I drink a lot of coffee. I think the only times I can really drink water from the bottle is during the night. I also been trying to eat healthy. We can easily forget and grab a fatty snack on our way to class :/. So thank you for the post and I will take this healthy eating into serious consideration. Btw, I hope you survive being away from your Fiance <333
